Outstanding Participation of MEXTYPSA in the 7th International Symposium on Deep Foundations and Ground Improvement
MEXTYPSA took part in the 7th International Symposium on Deep Foundations and Ground Improvement, organized by the Mexican Society for Geotechnical Engineering (SMIG) in coordination with the Deep Foundations Institute and the Geo-Institute.
This symposium is held annually and is considered one of the most important spaces for learning, collaboratio, and professional development, for the national and international geotechnical community.
Our colleague, engineer Andrea Neri M., from the Geotechnics department, delivered the presentation “Deep Foundation for Viaduct 864+570 on the Nuevo Necaxa–Tihuatlán Highway, in a Zone of Faults and Folds,” where she presented the analysis, design, and technical criteria applied in a highly complex geological setting.
Her contribution was also included in the publication “Towards Safer, More Efficient, and More Sustainable Geotechnics,” which compiles the symposium’s technical proceedings. In this edition, engineer Neri documented the geological and geotechnical research that supported the constructive aspects and procedures. We also highlight the participation of the Geotechnics Department Director, María del Carmen Cabrera Velázquez, whose involvement was fundamental to the project.
The work developed by MEXTYPSA provided a integral response to the site’s challenges and requirements, for this reason, engineer Neri concludes:
“The integration of geological and geotechnical information is essential for correctly interpreting geotechnical units, achieving an adequate foundation design, and defining the proper construction procedure for a structure.”
This approach enabled the development of a safe, efficient, and site-adapted design.
The participation of our engineers reaffirms the technical strength that distinguishes MEXTYPSA, supported by a team of professionals within the Geotechnics department, capable of handling projects in complex geological environments and proposing fully substantiated structural and foundation solutions.
