Year:2025Specialties:EnvironmentTags:NewsShare

We were part of the 1st Colloquium in Sustainability Sciences at UNAM

On August 6, our coworker Shaila Victoria represented our company in the 1st Graduate Students Colloquium in Sustainability Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). We would like to highlight the interdisciplinary collaboration within our BIM specialization, with our colleague Genaro Gutiérrez.

During the event, they contributed to the presentation titled “Towards Resilient Territorial Planning: Data Processing using Digital Tools to Identify Climate Vulnerability.” On this space they presented the development of an innovative methodology developed in Dynmo – Revit able to process more than 250,000 climate variable data in Spain, including the peninsula, Balearic Islands and The Canary Islands. The objetive was to anticipate climate change risks in infraestructure projects.

The methodology directly integrates the BIM department with the environmental division, creating a pioneering methodological bridge on national level. It was subsequently shared with TYPSA’s Climate Change team in Spain, reinforcing the spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration.

This approach enabled the categorization of cimate risks in record time, despite the magnituded of information, optimizing modeling an analysis process and laying the groundwork for more resilient infrastructure of future climate scenarios.

Furthermore, Shaila Victoria led a workshop on “Sustainability Reporting”, aimed at broadening students’ perspectives in the field of environmental consulting. The session emphasized the significance of reporting in the context of multilateral development Banks, and provided a general overview of the processes involved in preparing sustainability reports, their aligment with international standards, and their importance in both national and international projects.

Our representatives’ participation in this forum reaffirms MEXTYPSA’s leadership in sustainability, as well as our team’s ability to generate knowledge, promote best practices, and actively contribute to building a more responsible and resilient future.
