Key facts: The project objective is to promote the sustainable development of the Yucatan peninsula in the following areas:
Economic: Promoting economic growth by improving regional integration, with a mixed transport system connecting key production and tourism centres in the region.
Social: Respecting the traditions of indigenous communities and defending gender equality.
Environmental: Preserving the natural habitat and protect the ecosyste.
Passenger traffic will travel at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, while night time freight traffic will travel at a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
The 1,584 km line crosses the Yucatan peninsula in 8 sections, passing through the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, with a total of 29 stations.
Services:
Technical support for the entire project and basic engineering supervision for the 8 sections.
Project and construction management of sections 1 to 5 north.
Services include the technical, legal and economic structuring of the project, support in the contracting processes, and project and construction management and supervision on the 1,043 km of the 5 sections. Additional services will be provided for interface management with the other 3 sections, which are to be constructed by the Secretariat for National Defence (SEDENA).
