Who we are

Throughout its history, TYPSA’s activity has consistently focused on providing engineering, architecture, and consulting services of the highest quality. The company strives to optimize the value it delivers to its clients while remaining committed to social development, sustainability, and improving the quality of life for citizens.

MEXTYPSA, the Mexican subsidiary of the TYPSA Group, was founded in 2009 and currently employs over 400 individuals. These employees work on developing the Group’s specializations, supporting and directing the company’s activities in Central America and the Caribbean as well.

Over the past 15 years, we have gained knowledge and experience handling large-scale projects, consistently standing out for our quality and innovative solutions. We have extensive integration capabilities from conceptual initiation to commissioning.

MEXTYPSA has executed projects nationwide and collaborated closely with Grupo TYPSA on projects in Central America and the Caribbean: Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Honduras.

Eng. Juan Manuel Maya Gochi

Civil Engineer (1991), with a degree in Infrastructure from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and a Master's Degree in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects, with over 30 years of experience directing and managing projects in various sectors including infrastructure, consulting, urbanization, building construction, technological parks, hydraulic works, and sustainable water and energy projects. He joined MEXTYPSA in 2014, serving as Project Manager, Project Director, and Manager of the Linear Works department. Since 2020, he has served as Director of Engineering, overseeing the departments of Structures, Geotechnics, Water Engineering, Linear Works, BIM, and Environmental Consulting.

Eng. Manuel Martínez Egea

Civil Engineer (2001), with a Master's degree in Management and Financing of Infrastructure Projects and Construction of Railway Infrastructure. With over 23 years of experience in railway, maritime, port, and airport projects, rock tunnels, bridges, and offshore structures. He joined Grupo TYPSA in 2020 as Director of the Project Management Office for the Mayan Train, and since 2022, he has served as Director of the Railway Engineering Division at MEXTYPSA.

Eng. Jaime Frigola Humet

Civil Engineer (2010), with a postgraduate degree in Data Science and Analytics. With over 14 years of experience in infrastructure and building projects overseeing technical, financial, legal, and regulatory aspects. He joined Grupo TYPSA in 2020, developing as Manager of Bids and Technical Advisor. In 2023, he joined MEXTYPSA as Director of the Energy Division.

Eng. Manuel Romero Jiménez

Civil Engineer (1993), with Master's degrees in Planning and Management of Infrastructures, as well as in Metro, Tram, and Urban Railways. With over 30 years of experience in design, construction, management of infrastructures, and management and direction of construction projects. He joined MEXTYPSA in 2020 as Director of Transport Infrastructure.

Arch. Yago Mauro Leguas Bugallal

Architect (2005), holding a Master’s degree in Urban Rehabilitation and Renewal, as well as in International Construction and Building Management, with a specialization in Industrialized Construction. He has an extensive international career spannding over 18 years, focused on the development, management, and leadership of large-scale projects in the infrastructure, transportation, and building sectors.

In 2020, he joined MEXTYPSA as Deputy Head of the Design Department for the Tren Maya Project Management Office, where he has since led the supervision of highly complex projects. As of May 2025, he has taken on the role of Director of the Buildings and Cities Division.
